Please read these terms carefully before using Lokpay.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Lokpay, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. User Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old or have the permission of a legal guardian to use our services. We may request ID verification for security purposes.

3. Escrow & Payment Terms

Payments made through Lokpay are held securely in escrow until the buyer confirms the product or service was received or completed satisfactorily. Disputes will be resolved based on submitted evidence. Lokpay does not override escrow triggers unless required by law.

4. Seller Responsibilities

Sellers are responsible for accurately describing their product or service. Once payment is confirmed and pickup is scheduled, cancellations or delivery failures may impact your credibility or result in account suspension.

5. Logistics & Delivery

Lokpay manages pickup and nationwide delivery through verified logistics partners. Sellers must ensure availability at the agreed pickup time. Buyers should confirm product availability with sellers before paying to avoid unnecessary costs. Delivery & Buyer Protection fees cover logistics and payment processing services. These charges are automatically applied once payment is made and are non-refundable, even if the product is later found to be unavailable.

6. Refunds & Disputes

If a seller confirms that an item is unavailable, Lokpay will refund the buyer’s full product payment. Service charges (Delivery & Buyer Protection fees) are not included in refunds as they cover already-activated services. Refunds and withdrawals are processed automatically once initiated, and may take up to 48 hours to reflect depending on bank processing times. Buyers must raise disputes within 48 hours of delivery or service completion. Failure to do so may result in the transaction being marked as completed.

7. Account Suspension

Lokpay reserves the right to suspend, freeze, or terminate any account involved in suspected fraud, chargeback abuse, repeated disputes, or violation of these terms. Funds in suspended accounts may be withheld pending investigation.

8. Limitation of Liability

Lokpay is a neutral escrow facilitator and does not manufacture, store, or guarantee any product listed by sellers. We are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, or business interruptions. Our liability is limited strictly to the amount of money held in escrow for the disputed transaction.

9. Disclaimer & Risk Notice

Online transactions carry inherent risks, including delays, cancellations, product misrepresentation, or fraud. By using Lokpay, you accept that:

  • The platform is provided "as is" and "as available".
  • You assume full responsibility for your use.
  • Lokpay is indemnified from liability beyond escrowed funds.
  • All disputes are subject to arbitration under Nigerian law, with venue in Lagos State.

10. Withdrawals

Withdrawals from your Lokpay wallet are automated once initiated. Funds may take up to 48 hours to reflect in your bank account depending on bank processing times. Lokpay is not responsible for delays caused by third-party financial institutions.

11. Bank Account Details

The bank account details provided at registration will be used for all withdrawals and refunds. If you wish to update your account details, you must contact Lokpay customer care and complete the required verification process before changes can take effect. Lokpay will not be liable for failed or misdirected payments caused by incorrect account details provided by the user.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Lokpay after changes means you accept the revised terms. Last updated: October 29, 2025.
